Mom On A Mission M.O.M.

Being a boy M.O.M.

(Mom On a Mission) is hard work. Especially when we realize we are raising up the next generation of leaders. We M.O.M.s are literally shaping the future right inside our homes. We kiss the foreheads of the future CEOs. We tuck into bed every night the future political decision-makers. We make lunch for the future fathers and husbands who will withstand more pressure than this generation ever knew. That is not a task to take lightly. We have just a few fleeting years to help “train them up in the way they should go.”

It’s easy

to realize we have a big job to fill but so hard to know how to fill it. GOOD NEWS! God has already equipped you with the ability to do it. He saw fit to entrust a boy, or boys, under your care. He knew the incredible amount of pressure you would feel and he decided to give you all the wisdom you would need to raise those currently crazy little creatures. So when we dive into God’s word, we find example after example of Godly men we can use to help guide us in the character traits we would like to pour into our kids. But One stands out above them all and that is Jesus!

Moms on a mission

don’t sit idly by and let our boys formulate who they are based on whichever way the wind blows. We stand up. We take charge. We open God’s Word. We Pray. We teach. We love. We discipline. We show. We guide. We pray some more. We rest in His promises.

I felt tremendous pressure

as a mom when I found out I was having a boy, then another boy, then another boy, then ANOTHER BOY! FOUR future fathers. FOUR future husbands. FOUR boys who would have to make it out in the world, in the workforce, in their community without wavering in their convictions and beliefs. What if I didn’t give them what they needed to succeed? What if I didn’t prepare them to withstand the lies Satan would put in front of them? I knew I had a serious job to do.

Let me add,

I have witnessed wonderful Godly mothers who have poured godly wisdom into their kids. Years down the road their kids still made a decision to walk away from the Lord. So is it pointless to try and equip our children to be mighty men of God? Each individual is responsible to make their own choices in life. That is not always a reflection of the parent but a reflection of the heart.

So, what IS the point?

The point is…if you are going to send your boys off to war, wouldn’t you like to send them with a full armory of weapons? Wouldn’t you like to rest in the fact that you trained them to know how to be good soldiers? Wouldn’t you like to put a map in their back pocket of all the enemy’s minefields? Wouldn’t you do all you could to ensure they would have the best chance of survival? Wouldn’t you give them everything you could to be able to win the war for not only themselves but future generations? Of course!
